This update adds support for File Provider, a feature introduced by Apple in macOS 12.3 which provides native support for accessing cloud-based file systems like Google Drive. Starting with version 58, Drive for desktop will be rolling out a change that impacts macOS users over the next few releases.
You can access the dashboard to manage storage by opening Drive for desktop, clicking settings and selecting Offline Files. Users who stream their My Drive can now view how hard drive space is utilized and unpin files so space can be reclaimed if needed.

Note: To avoid compatibility issues and service interruptions with Drive for desktop, stay on a version that Google released within the last 12 months. Until we reach 100% roll-out, the Drive for desktop download link provides the prior version. We typically wait until a new version of Drive for desktop is 100% rolled out to existing customers before providing the new app for download. If you see a number between the listed releases, that version has no significant difference from the prior release.
